Ideal World Hires Dan To Adapt Irvine Welsh Novel “Filth”

Ideal World Films in partnership with producers Miranda Robinson (Foursoul Productions) and Angus Lamont (Crab Apple Films) have hired Dan to adapt Irvine Welsh’s gritty novel “Filth” with Menhaj Huda (Kidulthood) attached to direct.

Filth is a 1998 book by Scottish writer Welsh about about Bruce Robertson, a racist, sexist, alcoholic, misanthropic police detective who is meant to be investigating the murder of a young black tourist in central Edinburgh but gets side-tracked by his many vices and spirals into a dark world of paranoia and drug/sex-fuelled excess.
