Dan’s multi-award-winning drama fantasy All That Glitters starring Sophia Myles and Alec Newman is now streaming on Disney+. Dan produced and directed this ambitious short about domestic violence (an issue close to his heart) between lockdowns through his film and television production company Buckle Up Entertainment.

When the coronavirus struck in March 2020 and London was thrust into lockdown, Dan’s plans were initially scuppered, and he felt it would not be possible to shoot until the crisis was over but then he heard news reports of increasing incidents of domestic violence during lockdown and realised that now was the right time to push ahead with the production, despite the numerous obstacles. He secured a bank loan, borrowed from personal credit cards and took the leap.

During the summer months Dan honed the script, developed detailed storyboards and shot lists and began the casting process, securing the amazing talent of Sophia Myles and Alec Newman with the help of Casting Director Ben Cogan.

The COVID-Secure shoot was over five days at the beginning of October 2020. Dan finally locked picture in March 2021 and completed post a few months later.

I am so proud to have produced and directed this 24min drama about domestic violence and the class-divide and taken it full circle from story concept to distribution on a major international streamer.” said Dan. “I always challenge and push myself and this project was no exception. From the scale and logistics of the production to the marketing and distribution strategy — I have learned an amazing amount along the way… which was the whole point of the process.

Dan is now casting and financing for up his directorial debut feature ANTECEDENT — a mind-bending psychological horror/thriller — preparing for a 2026 shoot.
