Domestic Violence Drama At Newport Beach Film Festival
Dan attended the highly respected Newport Beach Film Festival in Southern California this week for the screening of his drama fantasy short film All That Glitters starring Sophia Myles and Alec Newman.
The festival is internationally recognized as one of Southern California’s leading film events, hosting eight days of 350+ film screenings, 58,000+ attendees, celebratory appearances on the red carpet, engaging networking opportunities, industry seminars, incredible nightly galas, private receptions and entertainment.
Dan is on an extended trip to Los Angeles for another screening of his short film in competition at the Studio City Film Festival and the American Film Market which he is attending on behalf of his film and television production company Buckle Up Entertainment.
Dan connected with many of the other talented filmmakers at the festival and enjoyed the filmmakers brunch cruise in the harbour.
Dan was also lucky enough to attend a screening of “The Good Nurse” starring Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain which was followed by an in-depth talk with Eddie Redmayne who shared some great insights about how the movie was made, how he worked with Jessica and how he approached the complex dark role of Charles Cullen an ICU nurse known as the “Angel of Death” and regarded as one of the most prolific serial killers in history — as depicted in Charles Graeber’s 2013 book, The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness and Murder.
Redmayne was honored with the festival’s “Icon Award”.
