Sophia Myles Wins Best Actress At New Renaissance Film Festival
Dan was over the moon to pick up two awards for his latest short film All That Glitters at the New Renaissance Film Festival in London this weekend – winning “Best Premiere” and “Best Actress” for Sophia Myles.
The domestic violence drama tells the story of a desperate teenager who snatches a rich woman’s handbag, but in a bizarre twist of fate discovers that her life is not as rosy as it seems and that they have more in common than he realizes.
Dan accepted the award on Sophia’s behalf at the Courthouse Hotel ceremony in London, saying “The role of Margaret was extremely challenging, as was shooting between lockdowns during the pandemic but Sophia was an absolute star and gave it her all. At one point she got ill and we thought we might have to cancel the rest of the shoot but in true thespian style she soldiered on and deserves every accolade she gets for her resilience, professionalism and for the authentic and nuanced performance she delivered throughout.”
